Since it opened for classes in 1954, UCR has grown into a destination campus for serious academics who seek a place to grow and develop. Many of the same properties that made UCR an enviable place to work more than 50 years ago remain in place today.
Faculty members have the ability to get in on the "ground floor" of important new areas of research. Because UCR is growing so rapidly, it frequently is adding new programs, many of which reach across several disciplines, giving new depth to previous areas of study.
