UCR's International Community
UCR is a diverse and vibrant community where international knowledge, ideas and skills are infused into all aspects of the university.
International Affairs acts as a catalyst to advance UC Riverside’s global engagement. By working with academic units to infuse a global dimension into teaching, research and engagement, International Affairs serves as a prism that illuminates UCR’s impact on the world.
Our three core units:
International Affairs Administration:
International Affairs Administration shapes the vision and implements UCR’s global strategy; we foster global and local community outreach, international alumni engagement, and we establish collaborative partnerships with institutions around the world.
Education Abroad advises and supports students on outbound international programs and facilitates faculty-led education abroad programs at UC Riverside.
International Students and Scholars:
International Students and Scholars advises, supports, and guides international students and international faculty at UCR. The ISS office also offers programs to help them successfully integrate into the UCR community and adapt to life in the United States.
UCR Extension offers a wide variety of postgraduate certificates and diplomas, including certificates from their International Education Programs. The International Education Programs (IEP) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) has been providing English as a Second Language (ESL), academic and professional programs since 1975. The curriculum is continually evaluated and updated to ensure the best U.S. learning experience. Every year, students graduate from programs and continue into exciting international careers and/or pursue the further academic study.
UCR partners with universities throughout the world to maintain the highest standards of teaching and research, to keep up with academic trends, and to share innovations. International agreements represent an outstanding opportunity for UCR faculty, staff, and students to grow and learn through contact with international colleagues. A partnership may be codified through an agreement known as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
UC Riverside is a highly ranked research institution, respected around the world for our innovative culture. Each year, international students from more than 65 countries attend UC Riverside, one of 10 schools within the University of California system.
International students who want to attend UC Riverside as a graduate student must submit their application through the UCR Graduate Division website. This website lists application requirements for international students, including information on transcripts, application fees, English language requirements, financial verification and visa procedures.
