UCR Majors and Minors with International/Global Component
- Global Studies
The Global Studies major gives students a chance to take advantage of a broad range of courses on global issues offered in the humanities, social sciences, arts and sciences. Each student acquires a background in two disciplinary traditions and a regional or topical area of study. Students are encouraged to study abroad.
- International Relations Minor
The International Relations minor helps to prepare students for many different international careers. This interdisciplinary field focuses on economic, geographic, historical and political issues and questions.

Undergraduate Degree Programs
- International Undergraduate Admissions
International students who wish to attend UC Riverside on a full-time basis go through the same admissions process as regular students. The general guidelines and requirements for admission as a freshman, including TOEFL and IELTS requirements, are available on the My.UCR.edu website.

English Language Programs and Programs for Short-Term International Students
- Intensive English Programs
The Intensive English Program is a 4-, 6- or 10-week program that helps students improve their reading, writing and grammar and develop their oral skills.
- Academic, Professional & Postgraduate Programs
These academic, professional and postgraduate programs are designed for advanced speakers of English who want to enhance their skills or expand their experience in a specialized area.
- Custom Programs for International Groups
The International Education Program designs short-term programs for visiting groups, including high school and university students. Courses combine formal classroom instruction with a variety of social and cultural activities. These programs are designed for a minimum of 10 students.
