The university benefits from the cumulative knowledge of many long-time faculty members. It also recognizes its outstanding young faculty through the University Scholars program, which isdesigned for tenured faculty members who are in the early stages of their careers.
The awards are selected and given by the Office of the Executive Vice-Chancellor and Provost , and are designed to help young scholars reach their full potential. Recent recipients include:

Going Abroad — Not Just for Students
The Summer Travel Program features UCR faculty teaching a general catalog course to students in an academic environment in a foreign land. Participation of faculty is what makes this program work.
