Making Your College Experience Easier

UCR supports its undergraduate and graduate students with variety of academic resources. Whether it is acquainting yourself with the campus through a Highlander Orientation, simple registration through GROWL or pursuing advanced study in the UCR Honors Program, these resources can help you make the most of your education.

All Students

  • Academic Advising
    Each college provides online and in-person academic advising, including information on breadth requirements, major requirements, and forms.
  • Academic Calendar
    Keep track of important dates during the quarter, including when to pay fees and tuition, when the quarter begins and when to register for classes.
  • Blackboard/iLearn
    Blackboard/iLearn is an innovative resource for instructors and students to connect outside of class. Students can download assignments and lectures, view their current grades and communicate on class discussion boards through this online tool.
  • General Catalog
    UCR's General Catalog in a searchable, electronic format. Catalogs dating back to the 1995-96 school year are available for download.
  • GROWL Online Registration
    The GROWL online registration system allows students to register for classes, track tuition and fee payments and financial aid, check degree progress and view almost any personal information pertinent to enrollment.
  • Office of the Registrar
    Academic and admissions records as well as various campus forms are all found at the Office of the Registrar. This office also oversees the GROWL online registration system.
  • Placement and Advisory Examinations
    These exams ensure that students enroll in the appropriate course levels for mathematics, chemistry, foreign language and writing.
  • Schedule of Classes
    The Schedule of Classes is a searchable database of all UCR course offerings.
  • University Honors Program
    UCR's prestigious Honors Program. The Honors Program allows well-prepared and highly-motivated students to take an active role in shaping their education, introducing them to the challenges and rewards of scholarship and research.

Future Students

  • Admissions Office
    The Admissions Office is home to all important information regarding admission to the University of California, Riverside.
  • Highlander Orientation
    Held during the summer, the Highlander Orientation program offers an educational tour of the campus and residence halls to students and parents alike. It is mandatory for all incoming first-year students.
  • Entry Level Writing Requirement (Subject A Requirement)
    The University of California's reading and writing proficiency standard. All students must meet this standard prior to or within the first three quarters of full-time enrollment.
  • Freshman Discovery Seminars
    These highly interactive one-unit seminar courses allow first- and second-year students to explore new and unfamiliar fields of study and to create close contacts with ladder rank faculty.
  • Transfer Admission Guarantee Program
    This contract program guarantees junior college students admission to UC Riverside.
  • Transfer Orientation Program
    Held throughout the year, the Highlander Orientation for Transfers introduces incoming students to the UCR campus and allows them to enroll in classes.

    The Graduate Division website provides all important information for current or prospective graduate students.

    The OPS website is a repository of information for all postdoctoral scholars.
