  • Time Magazine ranked UC Riverside #1 based on metrics of graduation rate, affordability, and the financial aid available to students.
  • Washington Monthly (August 2017) ranked UC Riverside 21st in the nation in its annual University and College Survey.
  • U.S. News and World Report Survey (2018) ranked UC Riverside in the following:
    • 124th in National Universities
    • 58th in Top Public Schools
    • 78th in Best Colleges for Veterans
    • 82nd in Engineering Programs (undergraduate)
    • 78th in Business Schools (undergraduate)
  • U.S. News and World Report's Best Graduate Schools (2016) including:
    • Graduate School of Education is 72nd among ranked schools
    • Bourns College of Engineering – 67th among ranked schools
  • UC Riverside was included in the (August 2018) edition of The Princeton Review's "The Best 382 Colleges."
  • Shanghai Jiao Tong University (August 2017) Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked UC Riverside among the top 151 institutions. This survey bills itself as "the most trustworthy precursor of global rankings of the world’s top 500 universities."
  • The Sierra Club's Cool Schools Ranking (2017) puts UC Riverside's energy-saving and sustainability efforts at 35th among 227 universities.

Faculty Distinctions

  • UCR faculty includes 48 Fulbright Fellows, 19 recipients of Guggenheim Fellowships, and 49 National Endowment for the Humanities Fellows.
  • Among 38 University Professorships, the highest honor in the University of California, UCR faculty have been awarded four (10%).
  • Current and former faculty includes six members of the National Academies, and 200 current or former members elected as Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
