Office of the Chancellor

UCR’s current leader is Chancellor Timothy P. White, who assumed the post in mid-July, 2008. White's academic background is in physiology, kinesiology and human biodynamics, and he is internationally recognized for his work in muscle plasticity, injury and aging.
A first-generation college student who emigrated from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Northern California, White has matriculated within every college system in California. He began his college career at Diablo Valley Community College, then earned his B.A. from Fresno State University and his master's degree from Cal State Hayward. He then earned his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley.
White has direct oversight of:
- The EVC & Provost.
- The four vice chancellors whose offices oversee specific areas of the campus.
- The Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Excellence.
- Campus Counsel.
- Governmental and Community Relations.
- Intercollegiate Athletics.
